ENG: This little moth was so much fun to work on! It took many layers of paint to build up the fur the way I wanted it, but in the end, I was really happy with the result. Moths have been one of my favorite groups of insects since childhood. I completely fell in love when I saw the giant moth in the film City of Ember, which was part of the inspiration for Alma. She’s a little more colorful, though. :)

SVE: Den här lilla nattfjärilen var så rolig att arbeta med! Det krävdes många lager för att bygga upp pälsen som jag ville ha den, men i slutändan blev jag nöjd. Nattfjärilar har varit en av mina favoritgrupper av insekter sedan barndomen. Jag blev helt förälskad när jag såg den jättelika nattfjärilen i filmen City of Ember, vilket var en del av inspirationen till Alma. Hon är dock lite mer färgglad. :)

ENG: This troll girl, surrounded by ferns, is another highly detailed artwork that took ages to complete. I used watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, and fineliners on Saunders cotton paper.

ENG: This painting is a paraphrase of one of my very first oil paintings, in which I painted a floating blue rose with the moon in the background. This time, the moon became a rose, with a version of outer space as the background.
